What's in a name?

Lorenzo Jacob Harris was named after two people:  his great-great Grandpa George Lorenzo and also after President Lorenzo Snow.  When Lorenzo Snow was a missionary in Europe before he became a prophet, he was the one who first baptized the Beus relatives (Ren's relatives from his Dad's) side into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  The name holds a special meaning in our hearts. :)  Even though people wondered and questioned our choice of name when Ren was born, he is a true Lorenzo.  No other name could ever suit him.  We gave him the middle name Jacob, in case he hated us for giving him an old-fashioned first name.  Guess what?  He's informed me he does NOT like the name Jacob and loves the name Lorenzo.

Meaning of Lorenzo:  it is derived from Lawrence. The laurel, or bay leaf, was used to make wreaths of victory. So to be "laurel-crowned" means to wear the crown of victory. Victory, to rest on your laurels, to rest on your victories, to wear the victors crown, crown of victory.

LORENZO equals VICTORY.

I like the name Lorenzo. I rather like that it is historical. How cool that he can learn about someone great and take pride in his namesake.
